What is No Gas Baby?

No Gas Baby is an exclusive online marketplace for Electric Vehicles (EVs) of any kind. We believe access to electric vehicles is crucial to the continued growth of EV infrastructure and mass adoption. EVs have the potential to replace our daily drivers and cut CO2 emissions, contributing to overall decreased greenhouse gas emissions and non-renewable resource preservation.

How do I sell my EV on NGB?

First off, we're glad you're considering selling with us! We've tried to make this process as easy as possible on your part: Head over to our Submission Page and fill out the three-step form.  We'll reach back out with additional questions if needed, or send over the payment link for your listing fee.  Once payment is confirmed, we'll begin your listing write-up based on the submitted information to remain as objective and trasparent as possible. We generally finish and post a listing within 48 hours of payment confirmation, FAXVIN history report pending.  Once live, we'll send you a notification! Spread the word and so will we! NOTE: To be prepared for the three-step submission form, make sure you have photos of your electric vehicle ready. A driving or walk-around video is optional, but recommended to have (can always be sent to us later to add to your listing). We also recommend having your title/registration information on hand, and any service records or as many receipts and details as possible.

How do I buy an EV on NGB?

Yes! Users can add video from YouTube or Vimeo with ease: Head over to our "Browse Listings" Page. Scroll, search, and filter through all live listings on our site until you find something in your buying criteria. Click on the listing page of interest and read through the listing information. You can then get in contact with the seller by sending a message of intent to buy, making an offer, or asking follow up questions. We recommend always getting in touch with the seller before purchasing, especially to sign a bill of sale before any monetary transaction occurs. You do not technically buy an EV on our platform, as we are a posting site only and are not a payment provider (yet). Before making a purchase, ensure that you contact the seller to have no lingering questions, receive the signed Bill of Sale from the seller before arranging payment, and collecting the seller's banking information to arrange a wire or ACH payment at our recommendation (please be careful with any other type of payment form). You also want to establish contact to arrange the pick-up of the vehicle if long-distance, or to arrange a viewing in person.

What are the fees?

We charge a one-time seller listing fee of $99 for a standard 60 day ad posting, or a $149 featured listing fee. The featured listing fee offers a 90 day posting period, visibility on our home page, and a space in our Newsletter to all NGB accounts.    There is an optional re-listing fee of $29 for standard listings if the EV is not sold within the 60 day selling period.

What if I have more questions, or want to arrange a viewing with the seller?"

In the upper right-hand side of the screen after clicking on a posting and going to its main page, there is a button that reads "Contact Seller." Click on this button to either send an offer, ask a question, or arrange a viewing. This information is then sent to the seller to get in touch with you. The "Contact Seller" button can also be found at the bottom of the posting page.    When the seller responds, it will be directly to your provided email address to continue the correspondences off-site. Here, you can further get answers and ask questions, arrange a Skype or third party viewing platform, or arrange a visit in person.   No Gas Baby is a marketplace for postings, and we do not interfere with or mediate seller/buyer transactions.

What happens after the seller accepts my offer?

IN PERSON: Both parties should sign a Bill of Sale and arrange payment in person. We always default in recommending wire transfers or ACH for security and transparency. EIther the buyer will drive the car home once the Bill of Sale is signed and payment is confirmed, or pre-arranged freight will pick the car up for delivery.   LONG DISTANCE: In a long distance purchase, you should sign a Bill of Sale with the seller for the purchasing price, and arrange payment. We recommend a wire transfer or ACH payment. Once you have recevied the signed Bill of Sale, and have received confirmation from the seller of payment, the most likely next step is transportation of the vehicle.   Delivery is usually a separate cost from the purchasing price, and is almost always the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed to. It should be factored in for long distance buyers.

What happens after I accept a buyer's offer?

IN PERSON: You should sign a Bill of Sale with the buyer, then collect payment based on the agreed upon payment terms or type. We recommend waiting until you have total payment confirmation in your account before releasing the title and vehicle to the buyer.   LONG DISTANCE: You should sign a Bill of Sale for the buyer stating the agreed upon price, then send the buyer your bank account type, number, and routing number for the buyer to arrange an ACH or wire transfer. After confirming the receipt of payment, you can then allow for the transfer of the title and freight pick-up of the vehicle.    After the transaction has completed, email us to let us know to take your listing down or do so in your account profile!

No Gas Baby writes every listing?

Our dedicated posting Curators write every listing on behalf of the seller in order to provide buyers with an objective seling voice and transparent posting format. Curators may reach out to sellers for more information regarding their submission to ensure listings are as detailed and accurate as possible.

Congratulations on your new or potential EV purchase! Now you want to get it to you from halfway across the country. What are the NGB Promises to Site Visitors?

Anything EV is welcome, exclusively.  Make the EV marketplace more accessible and efficient. No third party or off-site ads (we wouldn't show you what we wouldn't want to look at, either). In addition to our Site Promises, we're on a mission to increase buyer protection, seller transparency, and diversity of EV offerings on NGB. We're also working on ways to lower a seller's time on the market and a buyer's need to request more information.

Seller Transparency?

We do our best to post only thorough and fair listings from sellers. We emphasize seller openness and honesty in submissions. We expect detailed submissions from the seller regarding their EV. If there are problems with the vehicle, buyers want to know. If there is damage, buyers would like to see it. Be thorough and detailed as a seller!   We then take the seller's submission and use this information to write our own posting on behalf of the seller to provide interested buyers with an objective, non-partisan voice about the EV. If we have questions, our dedicated Posting Curator will reach out to the seller for clarification before posting live to the site.    Any lingering questions can be asked in the comments for everyone to see and be answered, or the seller can be contacted directly.

Buyer Protection?

As an intermediate marketplace for the EV community, we do not engage in the sales process or interactions between buyer and seller. However, buyer protection and security in their new EV investment is important to us. In order to systematically weed out untrustworthy sellers, No Gas Baby: Has a minimum information and media criteria in the submission process. Requires the seller to upload a current image of the vehicle's Title or Registration to verify ownership. Requires sellers to allow the posting of their EV's VIN, in case prospects would like to perform their own CarFax or other vehicle data search.  Performs a FAXVIN Vehicle History Report for every listing.  Offers resources in the post-sale process, but does not directly interfere.  Resources in the post-sale process include: a template Bill of Sale that both parties can use and sign. Remember, do not send or transfer money until you have both signed the Bill of Sale and come to an arrangement on payment terms. the recommendation that each transaction is made via ACH or wire transfer, once the Bill of Sale is signed. Collect the bank info, account # and routing # from the seller.  Freight Line suggestions (none recommended as we do not have any affiliations with third-party freight lines).

How does Buyer-Seller contact work?

If the buyer: Has a question about the EV: the buyer should comment on the posting page for the seller to answer to avoid answering the same question multiple times. Has a question more directly: the buyer can hit the "Contact Seller" button located on the posting page to provide the seller with his or her name, email address, offering price (optional), and a direct message. Wants to make an offer: The buyer can "Contact Seller" and in the "Offering Price" part, make an offer.  Wants to buy the EV: The buyer can "Contact Seller" and in the "Offering Price" part, enter the as-advertised price.  Once the Buyer has made contact to the Seller, the Seller retains the rights of first refusal and responds to questions or offers via email directly. No Gas Baby only sends buyer information to sellers the information they provide. No Gas Baby does not provide potential buyers with a seller's contact information on our platform, and will send messages from buyers to the seller to respond directly. We notify sellers via the email and/or contact information provided in the submission page of buyer questions or offers.
